My approach to care is holistic. I believe in addressing the mind, body, and spirit, as well as taking into account the environment and circumstances that shape your life. In our first session, we’ll spend about an hour together so I can really get to know you—your concerns, your past, and what brings you to where you are today. I’ll ask questions about your mental and emotional health, but I’ll also want to understand your physical health, your diet, exercise, medications, and support systems. Together, we’ll develop a plan that feels right for you, whether that involves medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of all three.
I’ve always been drawn to helping others, but my journey into mental health wasn’t marked by a single moment—it’s something that’s grown throughout my life. I dealt with anxiety growing up and often turned to nature as a place of calm. Now, we call that "grounding," but for me, it’s always been a refuge. Encouraged by an inspiring psychologist in my late 50s, I pursued my PMHNP certification and found that it brought everything full circle. Helping others on their path to mental well-being is my passion, and I’m honored to be part of your journey.
I have provided holistic care to patients in a variety of settings from ICU, acute rehabilitation settings and long-term care. I've also spent time working in settings with those facing major health issues, and those with advanced age. I've learned first had that as we age and physical health concerns increase, sometimes our mental health takes a back seat. I value the experience I've had working with aging populations and have a passion ensuring mental healthcare remains front and center, ensuring the best quality of life possible during all of life's seasons.
I understand that life is full of different seasons—some fun, others challenging. No matter where you are on your journey, I’m here to support you. Let’s take the next step together.

A little bit more about me.
I’m a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I’ve been in healthcare for over 30 years, and my path has led me to mental health, where I combine my years of experience in nursing with specialized training in psychiatry to help people navigate their unique mental health journeys. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University, where I also earned my FNP certification, and a PMHNP post-graduate certification from Liberty University.
Outside of work, I still love spending time in nature—whether it’s hiking, swimming, or fishing. Traveling is also one of my favorite things to do; I enjoy experiencing new places, cultures, and foods. My husband and I love hosting gatherings with family and friends (though, ironically, cooking just for the two of us is a rare event). I’m also looking forward to getting back into playing guitar and sewing.
